Exterior French Drain
If you have a part of your lawn or an area in your backyard that seemingly puddles up easily you may want to think about getting an exterior french drain. Most of these issues start out small and are often overlooked. A little bit of extra flooding in your lawn may not seem like a big deal, but if the issues start getting closer and closer to the house you may not be as happy. At the same time, why would you deliberately want to live in a swampy area when you can do something about it.
French Drains In Retaining Walls When you’re building a retaining wall remember that pretty much the main issue that could topple the wall is not the soil or the rocks around it. Most of the time the problems because of a lack of proper moisture management. One of the best ways to be able to keep your walls upright and therefore your property protected is to make sure water is able to flow through the wall without being able to break it down. Building a proper french drain in these areas could lead to you having a great retaining wall for years to come. Lawn Issues If you’re seeing that certain parts of your garden suffer from excessive puddling when it rains there are two options. Either you have a problem with your septic tank system that you need to address or there is a problem in that area and it could be a good idea to put in a french drain to be able to disperse that water. These types of problems are of particular importance when the flooding occurs close to the foundation. Leaving these types of problems unattended for an extended period could lead to major issues with your lawn and other parts of your home. Where Can You Build Drains?
